The eggbutt bar is a universally used mouthpiece. It sits very quietly in the horse"s mouth and the "olives" at each side effectively prevent pinching of the lips. Increased pressure from the second rein on the gag causes the bit to rotate and lifts the bit in the mouth, which results in a stronger effect. Very useful on horses that tend to lean on the bit. Can also be used to produce more elevation in the horse. Mouthpiece thickness 18 mm.
