Alexander’s anatomically shaped mouthpiece features a 45° twisted French Link, designed to follow the natural contours of the tongue. When combined with the palatable taste of Sweet Iron this bit is well accepted, including ‘hard to please’ picky, sensitive horses. This center piece works well on a horse who pushes their tongue against the bit in an attempt to evade the contact and take control. When taking up the reins, Alexander creates both bar and tongue pressure, encouraging the horse to respond whilst creating a lighter feeling in the hand. The Kimblehook can be described as a fixed ring with the possibility to add leverage when you need it. The further down you place your rein; the more pressure will be added and divided between chin, poll, and mouth. The stable feeling Kimblehook creates can be good for fuzzy and worried horses that get strong, unbalanced, and hard to turn. The Kimblehook puts the pressure further down in the mouth which can help a horse that gets too high in the neck. Kimblehooks are always used together with a chain or strap behind the chin.
